Tensions in the Middle East continue to rise as Hamas increases its rocket fire from Gaza into civilian territory in Israel.
The Israeli govenment has given Hamas warnings and opportunities to cease their aggression in the past week but so far there is nothing but a steady barrage of missiles in response from Hamas. Hamas is set on destruction of Israel and its civilians.
In keeping with Psalm 122:6 we would request from our friends to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the peace of Israel. The Father in heaven is our ultimate trust and we must constantly be on our knees beseeching Him about the affairs on this earth.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prospoer who love you." (Ps. 122:6)
We also want to remember to keep the Israeli military and leaders in mind as many strategic decisions will be made in the days and weeks to come. Paul instructs Timothy in the letter addressed to him to pray for those in authority so that its citizens may live in peace with the goal of salvation:
"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are inauthority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness anddignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:1-4
Thank you for standing with us in prayer during these days.
