Stewards of grace
Morning
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 1 Pet. 1:8-11 ◊ Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Col. 4:6 ◊ Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. Heb. 12:14-15 ◊ Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Pet. 3:18
Evening
A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression. Prov. 19:11 ◊ He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered exalts folly. Prov. 14:29 ◊ Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Eph. 4:29-32 ◊ Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Cor. 13:7
