Description
Carolyn Hyde’s most recent release, “Some of the Best of Carolyn Hyde”, is a compilation of two albums formerly available on cassette (Song of Songs and Hear from Heaven). Although it is evident that some of the songs represent efforts from an earlier time in Carolyn’s songwriting career, there is an astonishing range of creative styles to be found in the songs on this album. Carolyn reports that many of these songs are being used in worship services in Messianic congregations, especially “Baruch Ata” and “Revive Us.” My personal favorite is a track more in the humorous vein, “How Can A Cowgirl Keep Kosher?,” an amusing Messianic Jewish country song lamenting the difficulties a Jew might have in finding good Jewish food in a place like … well, a place like San Antonio, Texas, one would presume!
Comments by Chad Elliot
Carolyn now resides in Israel and is involved in the Tents of Mercy Messianic congregations. She led worship in Katsir Asher, a congregation in Akko, until moving to the Galilee, where she is currently a worship leader near Tiberias.
